TCYC members go Autumn Sailing

A number of TCYC members took advantage of the eventual arrival of sunny weather to go for an Autumnal sail. Yesterday (Tuesday) George Rock-Evans and his intrepid crew enjoyed a very fast passage from Teignmouth harbour to Dartmouth. The brisk wind from the North West resulted in a passage time of 1 hour 35 minutes with an average speed of 7.5 knots.

Meanwhile at Coombe Cellars the dinghy racers had been frustrated by the total absence of wind at the weekend which resulted in no racing at all. Consequently a group of the Solo sailors decided to take advantage of the nice weather to go for a leisurerly sail today (Wednesday). The Northerly wind was as expected a bit fluky but strong enough for a satisfying sail.

Despite the relaxed environment ,being competitive sailors, an impromptu race was unsurprisingly organised.
