Steve started Sailing as a Navy Cadet at HMS Lochinvar on the Firth of Forth over a chilly Easter Holiday and then as a teenager at Penzance Sailing Club, crewing mirror's and enterprise's befote getting my own Mirror then a Laser.

Worked for 2 summers as an outdoor sports instructor on Drakes Island before joining the Royal Navy.

Moved into Offshore Yacht racing, starting as bow man and progressing through the crewing roles to the back of the boat as navigator tactician and eventually Skipper.

Qualified as a Yachtmaster and a Regional Race officer.
