Why join us - membership benefits
Membership gives you full access to our Coombe Cellars watersports centre which has changing rooms and a training room on the ground floor with a clubroom and kitchen on the first floor together with a roof terrace with wonderful views of the Teign estuary.
We have a number of club owned dinghies and paddleboards at Coombe Cellars for members to use for free. There is dinghy racing most weekends of the year (race times are dictated by tide times!) - check the Events Calendar to see what races are coming up. Why not come down when there's a race on to meet some of the other sailors and see the action first hand?
The is also an on-site boat park at Coombe Cellars for members to use with spaces for dinghies, small daybooks and trailer/sailors. We also have racks available for kayaks and SUP boards. If you wish to store anything at Coombe Cellars, please contact Ray, our Dinghy Park Manager, to confirm that there is a space available before signing on the dotted line!
We're also an RYA approved Training Centre and run courses throughout the year. You can find out more here but do note that all courses are for members only. Mark, our Training Manager, is currently planning the schedule for 2027 so if there's any specific course you would to attend, please let him know.
If you would like to try sailing in something larger, the club also owns two Cork keelboats that go out every Wednesday and Thursday evening - further details can be found here. You don't need to be a member to sail on these boats but members pay a discounted rate - waterproofs and life jackets can be provided! It's also a good opportunity to meet other budding sailors and, on a Wednesday night, have a drink and a meal at our clubhouse at Eastcliff afterwards.
A number of our members do have their own keelboats and are often looking for additional crew. As a member, you get access to 'Crew Finder' which allows you to volunteer your services to other members with boats.
Membership also gives you full access to our Eastcliff Clubhouse, down on the sea front in Teignmouth (opposite the Lido), Members get discounted rates on room hire, social events and, most importantly, the bar! The clubhouse is open on Wednesday and Friday evenings and Ellie, our wonderful clubhouse manager, regularly organises social events for members (and non-members) to enjoy. You can find details of these events in the TCYC Calendar on the website.
TCYC membership has no 'sign on' fee or approval process - once you've paid the annual fee, your membership runs for 12 calendar months. To join us, please click here
