TCYC From Cowes to Falmouth, "poachers and game keepers" with a little bit of saving lives at sea.

In August TCYC was represented at regattas as far afield as Cowes and Falmouth. Furthest travelled was Rupert Poole and his crews on Echo 5 who competed in Cowes Week, Falmouth week and Dartmouth regatta. Echo 5 was joined by Grant Simmons and his crew in Apache.

Keeping an eye on them from the committee boats in Falmouth and Dartmouth was Race officer Steve Pocock. Not only was Steve involved in the race management but on the last day of Dartmouth regatta coordinated the support to a yacht that, having wrapped their kite around the forestay and jib, fell further into the "incident pit" by wrapping a rope around the prop shaft. With Slapton sands to leeward the mark layer rib was despatched to stand by and the committee boat acted as the PanPan relay station for Falmouth coast guard. Eventually the casualty was able to make progress back to the mouth of the Dart (Easterly with a lumpy sea) where she was safely escorted to her mooring.
