Club Super cancelation policy
Most of the ingredients Ian our chef uses are bought fresh from local suppliers. Although they are slightly more expensive but that's his ethos- fresh and local.
For Wednesday suppers, Ian is at the suppliers by 8am on the Tuesday morning shopping for ingredients and for a Friday tapas event, 8am on the Thursday morning, cancellations after this time, not only reduces his total takings, but leaves with ingredients that cannot be frozen.
Unlike a restaurant where stock can be used the next day for a service, he ends up putting food waste in the bin which is also totally against our ethos. We simply do not have enough space to freeze lots of food which hasn't been used.
We appreciate things happen and circumstances cannot be avoided sometimes and that is nobody's fault, however his business cannot survive if he regularly has cancellations with such little notice. We want Ian's business to not only survive but thrive here at TCYC and I need your help in making that happen!
So can I please ask, if you book a meal but then find due to circumstances you must cancel, can you let Ian know 48 hours before the booking, i.e. by 1900 on a Monday for a Wednesday evening club supper. If you have ordered on behalf of others, it is your responsibility to inform Ian of any cancellation. Ian is happy to plate your meal as a "take away" if you can make it to the Club or can organise someone else to deliver it for you.
Unfortunately, after this time Ian will have to charge you for your meal and to pay.
If you have booked a meal and sailing is cancelled, please still come in and have your meal, as this is something beyond his control and at this point all the food would have been bought and prepared ready for you to come in after sailing.
Ian is a small, self-employed business and must pay kitchen fees to TCYC and pay his staff, regardless of how busy or quiet the club is.
Ian values your custom and support and would be very grateful for your support in this matter.
