Commodore

Mike joined TCYC in 2001. A father of 3 and grandfather of 10. Mike started sailing at 18 in Mirror dinghies, went on to build Cherubs, Mirrors and Optimists (for the kids). Taught own children to sail and proud that son, Andrew, represented GBR at Laser Youth Worlds and was National Champion in 2004.

Beside Mirrors and Cherubs Mike has also sail ed Contenders, ISOs, RS200, Wayfarer, Lasers and most recently the K1 dinghy winning Masters Nationals in 2015 and 2017.

A chartered mechanical engineer by profession specialising in advanced composite structures for aircraft and boats.

Founded and ran own businesses(es) until 2020.

A member of the management team since 2014 and Hon Treasurer (2018 2022) and Commodore in 2022 to date.
