RYA Adult Dinghy Training Course

A four day training course for adults who may be absolute beginners or returning to sailing after a break. The course leads to the award of level 2 of the adult dinghy scheme.

The course is held at our dedicated training centre at Coombe Cellars. Places on the course are for adult club members only.

Members need to be logged in to the website to purchase tickets for this course.

The cost is £240 per person. A full list of what you need to bring will be issued nearer the time; TCYC will provide buoyancy aids, but it is strongly recommended you have a wet suit.

It is a requirement of the RYA that each course member completes a Medical Declaration and details of Emergency Contacts. Forms are included in the booking process and will be rechecked on the first day of the course.

Because of the changing tide times, the start times will vary. The plan is as follows:

Thursday 23 July HW 1346 - 9 am start
Friday 24 July HW 1459 -12 am start
Saturday 25 July HW 1618 - 1 pm start cream tea on Netherton Beach
Sunday 26 July HW 1726 - 2pm start with sunset sai

Cancellation Policy:

We recognise that things change, but please note that sometimes these courses are over subscribed and we need to turn people away. We run these courses at cost price and need to fill the places to keep the costs down for everyone. Also we need to maintain strict standards of instructor and safety boat to student ratios and it is difficult to change these things at short notice. For these reasons, we ask that you give us a month's notice before cancelling.

If you cancel with less than a month's notice, we reserve the right to retain 50% of the fee paid, which will be refunded in the event that we fill the place.

If you cancel with less than 2 weeks notice, we reserve the right to retain the full fee paid.

If for any reason your child cannot attend on any particular day please contact training@tcyc.org.uk so that we know not to wait for them.
