RYA Junior Dinghy Training Course 1

A four day training course for children aged from 9 up to 16 which leads to successful attendees reaching Stage 2 in the RYA Youth dinghy sailing scheme or for those who have already achieved Stage 2, there is the opportunity to develop more advanced skills including racing and sailing with spinnakers up to Stage 4.

The course is held at our dedicated training centre at Coombe Cellars. Places on the course are for Junior club members only.

Members need to be logged in to the website to purchase tickets for this course.

The cost is £180 per person. A full list of what you need to bring will be issued nearer the time; TCYC will provide buoyancy aids, but it is strongly recommended you have a wet suit.

It is a requirement of the RYA that each course member completes a Medical Declaration and details of Emergency Contacts. Forms are included in the booking process and will be rechecked on the first day of the course.

Because of the changing tide times, the start times will vary. The plan is as follows:

Saturday 2 August. HW 1229 - 10am start
Sunday 3 August HW 1322 - 11am start
Monday 4 August HW 1437 - midday start
Tuesday 5 August HW 1607 - start at1300 and finish with BBQ at 1830 (optional and as agreed on day 1)

Cancellation Policy:

We recognise that things change, but please note that sometimes these courses are over subscribed and we need to turn people away. We run these courses at cost price and need to fill the places to keep the costs down for everyone. Also we need to maintain strict standards of instructor and safety boat to student ratios and it is difficult to change these things at short notice. For these reasons, we ask that you give us a month's notice before cancelling.

If you cancel with less than a month's notice, we reserve the right to retain 50% of the fee paid, which will be refunded in the event that we fill the place.

If you cancel with less than 2 weeks notice, we reserve the right to retain the full fee paid.

If for any reason your child cannot attend on any particular day please contact training@tcyc.org.uk so that we know not to wait for them.
