Coombe Cellars facilities

Our dinghy sailing and RYA Training Centre is located on the South bank of the Teign estuary at Coombe Cellars near Combeinteignhead.

The Boat Park

The site has space for members to store their kayaks, SUP boards, dinghies, daybooks and small trailer-based cruisers.

The boat park is usually quite full but we always endeavour to find a space for new arrivals. We do sometimes update the layout so that boats that sail frequently are located near the slipway. Kayaks and SUP boards are stored on purpose built racks near the slipway to minimise the distance they need to be carried.

If you need a space, please contact the Boat Park Manager at dinghy.park.mgr@tcyc.org.uk

The new Clubhouse

Our brand new clubhouse gives club members a modern up-to-date set of facilities that provide a range of facilities for members to use.

Changing Rooms and toilets

The clubhouse has been designed with a 'wet' floor on the Ground Floor with changing rooms, toilets and a training room.

If you have been sailing or paddling please wash your boots in the boot wash outside the front door before coming into the building.

There are separate changing rooms for male, female and instructors. Showers are provided in both male and female changing rooms. Members can switch on the heating and hot water themselves using the timer controls in the hall.

Press the bottom right hand corner of the appropriate control. Each press advances the time through 30, 60 and 120 minutes and cycles round to zero. Please only switch on those controls that you need in oder to save electricity.

All lights and fans in the changing rooms and toilets are operated by PIR sensors and will automatically switch off a few minutes after the last person has left the room.

Please tidy up the rooms after using them and make sure any mud is cleared up.

Upstairs Social Area

Upstairs is the 'dry' floor and is for members to use to meet and relax. There is a clubroom, kitchen and roof terrace. This floor can be accessed via the staircase by the flront door or via the wheelchair-capable lift in the hall.

If using the lift please note that the alarm only sounds in the building so ensure that there is someone outside of the lift in the event of a problem. The lift is a platform lift and only moves while the appropriate button is being pressed so it is necessary to continue to press the button until the lift arrives at your floor.

The lift must not be used for frivolous purposes and must never be used by unaccompanied children.
