Ship in the Bottle Regatta Overall - 2025
The early May Bank Holiday weekend saw TCYC hosting the Ship in the Bottle Regatta at Coombe Cellars under clear blue skies with a variety of wind conditions. It was really pleasing to see some 17 helms take to the water, young and old, male and female in 9 different classes of dinghy. Ship in Bottle Regatta - Day 1
Saturday proved to be a very light wind affair for the 17 sailors that entered the Ship in a Bottle Regatta at Coombe Cellars. A bright and sunny day with a very light north easterly was just what club members needed to bring them out on the water and it was especially pleasing to see so many youngsters join in. Busy and Successful Coombe Cellars Work Party
Well over thirty members turned up to help at today's Autumn work party despite the sharp North Easterly wind. Members were split into several groups by our organiser John Ewbank, with teams being dispatched to clear the ditches on the road, clear out the boat store gutters and roof , weed and clean the paved areas etc. The largest team was assigned to bring our extensive hedge under control. Malcolm Davies wins the Solo Western Traveller Series
Congratulations to our own Malcolm Davies for winning the 2022 Solo Western traveller Series. Forty six different Solo sailors took part in the series which was held at eight different clubs across the South West. Malcolm achieved the lowest score which included a win at Torpoint Mosquito Sailing Club. A second TCYC member, Gary Molton was in fourth place. )1115043;1000(

Fabulous Autumn Dinghy Regatta
Teign Corinthian YC's much awaited autumn regatta for dinghies finally got going on Saturday October 1st. Middle of previous week it was looking very doubtful if things would go ahead with forecasts of 40 knot winds and much rain being predicted. In the event Saturday saw a westerly topping out at 25 knots and Sunday a north easterly of no more than 10 knots - and all in blue sky and sunshine. Perfect.

Ship in a Bottle Regatta 2022
Second day of the Ship in a Bottle Regatta started quietly with a steady easterly blowing up the river. Lots of different craft added to the spectacle on a warm summer's day. With many local sailors off to distant climes like Abersoch (Solo Nationals) and northern France (classic yacht race), just a few select sailors joined the event at Coombe Cellars. Tremendous end to the Icebreaker Series 2022
Thirteen boats launched on the final day of the Icebreaker Saturday Series. Unseasonable sunshine combined with a stiff Easterly breeze ensured that exciting sailing lay ahead. The brisk conditions made for entertaining viewing for the members watching from the new clubhouse with capsizes and gear breakages being all to common. New signs at Coombe Cellars
Dear all, We have tried to make it as clear as possible that there should be no cars driving on the grass boat lane. Vehicles have historically created rutting on the grass which has caused a trip hazard to members pulling their dinghies.
