A thorough soaking for all those who did manage the 10.30am New Year’s day start! A first and a second place for Andy Colyer (Solo) sees him move into the top position overall with Chris Cunningham (RS100) retaining second spot. Peter Hearne (Solo) is now in third place. Although with two discards coming into play tomorrow Chris Tillbrook (Votex) is still one of the leading contenders for the 2011 Christmas Regatta Trophy. Christmas Regatta – Day 1

25 boats took to the water in a strengthening westerly breeze for day 1 (Sat 31st Dec) of our annual Christmas Regatta. Chris Tillbrook (Vortex) won both races and heads the leader board with Chris Cunningham (RS100) secend on 5points and Andy Collyer (Solo) third with 7 points. Christmas (New Year) Dinghy Regatta at Coombe Cellars

A reminder that due to prevailing tides at Coombe Cellars our annual three day “Christmas” regatta will this year be held over the New Year period with racing on Saturday 31st Dec, Sunday 1st Jan and Monday 2nd Jan. Usual format of all-in handicap racing, two back to back races per day with four races to count overall. Really sociable start times of 10:00am, 10.30am and 11.00am respectively. No entry fee and all visitors welcome. Bacon rolls will be available on Saturday 31st December. On Monday 2nd January our TCYC Cruising for Fun section members have kindly offered to organize

Autumn Series – The Results

The final races of the Handicap and Solo Class Saturday and Sunday Series were sailed last weekend. Although there were 26 scheduled races with 14 results to count in each series, in the Solo Class the eventual winners of both the Saturday and Sunday trophies were only decided on the very last races of the day! Two wins saw James Stevenson pip Peter Hearne by less than half a point to take the Saturday Series with John Davey third overall. Autumn Series – Final Races this Weekend!

The final races of our four Autumn Series will be sailed at Coombe Cellars this weekend and in the Solo Fleet there are still four sailors who could secure the two Trophies up for grabs. The Saturday Series is very close with Peter Hearne just heading the table but either John Davey or James Stevenson could easily take top spot if they score a couple of good results this weekend. Some very windy conditions are forecast so Saturday’s racing should be very interesting indeed. The Sunday Series leader is John Davey but Andy Colyer has been in excellent form recently and
